Intelligent Design’s unintelligent PR, and more
April 23, 2008 by douglasdbCreationism had a PR makeover in recent years – and came back as Intelligent Design. Great. A new movie – which I am loathe to even mention the title of – that helps creates a veneer of ’science’ to this new angle, making out that the scientists in the ID field have been victims of the establishment. The producers of the film hilariously recently barred one of the interviewees in the film – biology professor P. Z. Myers – from attending one its previews, but letting Richard Dawkins in…! Interesting interviews with, and by, Dawkins and PZ Myers about their experiences at premier of said movie: video (9 mins) HERE and an audio interview (50 mins, on the fab Skepticality) HERE. Meanwhile Scientific American magazine had a great overview of the film also – on their podcast (20 mins) HERE; also an hour long discussion with the makers is HERE, and S.A’s Steve Mirsky’s sad findings on the selective quoting of Darwin by the film makers for their own ends (3mins 46secs): HERE.
